Plenty of comedy, a play update, and an accidental poisoning are to take place during Nunsense, which Shelby County Commnity Theatre will present beginning on Friday.

Nunsense will take place on Feb. 14, 15, 21, and 22 at 7:30 p.m. each night. Matinees, meanwhile, are to happen on Feb. 16 and 23 at 2:30 p.m. each day. All performances will go on at Shelby County Community Theatre, located at 801 Main Street in Shelbyville, KY.

Tickets for each show are $15 for adults, $12 for seniors 62 and over, and $10 for students. Due to limited seating, reservations are recommended and can be made by calling 502-633-0242.

The Little Sisters of Hoboken are at the center of Nunsense. Its cook, Sister Julia, has accidentally poisoned members of the convent, and now the convent needs to raise funds in order to bury the sisters. The remaining sisters will put on, or at least attempt to put on, a talent show. There will be songs, dancing, and Sister Amnesia.

Dan Goggin created the production, which Mike Seely directed. This version of Nunsense, according to Shelby County Community Theatre, will include new jokes, lyrics, and songs, among other things.

Following Nunsense, Shelby County Community Theatre will move Upstairs at 801 with performances of Almost, Maine. That production will take place Mar. 21, 22, and 23.

For the mainstage series, SCCT will next present The Foreigner, which will have auditions this weekend and the show in April.
