Savage Rose Classical Theatre Company will present The Bald Soprano eight times in two nights this weekend.
The Bald Soprano will take place on Sept. 5 and 6 at 6 p.m., 8 p.m., 10 p.m., and midnight each night. All performances will happen at The Bard's Town, located at 1801 Bardstown Road in the Highlands.
Tickets for all shows are $10 per person. Due to limited seating, reservations are highly recommended and can be made by calling 502-749-5275 or by going to The Bard's Town website.
The Bald Soprano features language as a problem in communication between two couples, a young lady, and a crazy public servant. The story starts out with seemingly normal conversation but soon devolves into complete hilarious nonsense.
Eugene Ionesco created the one-act play as his response to learning the English language. (According to the Savage Rose webiste, Ionesco was Romanian by birth and wrote most of his plays in French.)
Tad Chitwood adapted and directed The Bald Soprano for Savage Rose. The cast includes Brian Hinds, Tony Pike, Victoria Reibel, Michael Roberts, Sabrina Spalding, and Karina Strange.
More information on the show can be found at the Savage Rose Classical Theatre Company website.
