Louisville SPJ invites journalists and their colleagues for a discussion of social media tools and how to best use them in the field on Thursday, Feb. 26, 2009, 6:30-8:30 at the Fifth-Third Conference Room at Arts Space, 323 W. Broadway. Todd Mundt, Vice President and Chief Content Officer of Louisville Public Media and Jason Falls, Social Media Explorer with Doe-Anderson and a founder of Louisville's Social Media Club, will discuss how to leverage social media tools to gather story ideas, monitor the buzz and happenings in your beats or communities, connect with influencers in the field to have faster access to information and monitor a wider range of information sources in less time. Using case studies, the presenters will also talk about how journalists can push information and their work out in new media ways and engage more directly with their audiences to become more valuable information resources to them.
