The Speed Art Museum presents two shows celebrating the bicentennial of Abraham Lincoln’s birth. These exhibitions will explore the life of the nation’s 16th president in Beyond the Log Cabin: Kentucky’s Abraham Lincoln and Ed Hamilton’s Lincoln from June 28 through September 6, 2009. Join us for festive array of family art and performance activities celebrating Ed Hamilton’s Lincoln and Beyond the Log Cabin: Kentucky’s Abraham Lincoln on Sunday, June 28. Activities include creating Lincoln stove pipe hats, family sculpture projects, Contra Dancing and 19th century fiddling in the exhibition. In addition, Ed Hamilton will be here at 1:00 p.m. to give a free talk about his journey to create the Lincoln Waterfront Memorial and then will later have a book signing.
