I know you've seen them. They're gargantuan and surreal; they saunter down the street and demand attention at every art fair or festival. Children cling to their mother's thighs and sneak peaks of their bazar, enigmatic splendor. They are the Squallis Puppeteers, one more amazing aspect that truly keeps Louisville weird and they are inviting you to come and play with them this weekend.
This Saturday, October 2nd, venture down to the School of Sharks Theater (770 Eastern Parkway) to partake in a one-of-a-kind puppet party. The Squallis Puppeteers, a local troupe of puppet "enthusiasts" will host their monthly 1st Saturday show and workshop series. "Meet the Breers" is this month's family-friendly performance--my son saw this at his elementary school and didn't talk about anything else for a week. Each performance first Saturday performance will also be accompanied with a puppet-making workshop. Admission to the performance is $5 per person and $5 per crafted puppet. The puppet extravaganza will open its doors to your family at 12:45 and activities conclude around 3:00. This is bound to be a workshop that beats others to a pulp--no strings attached...
