Shakespeare gets a comedic, condensed look when three actors rapidly go through his plays in the Rose Island Playhouse production, The Complete Works of Shakespeare (Abridged) starting tomorrow.
The Complete Works of Shakespeare (Abridged) features Chris Meier, Brandon Meier, and Mark Lewis taking on the seemingly daunting task of going through all 37 of Shakespeare's plays in one performance. Everything from shortened versions of Romeo and Juliet to Julius Caesar to Macbeth will be put on. With the sped up atmosphere, expect plenty of comedy, improvisation, possible audience participation, and other surprises. Rhoda Meier directed the production.
Rose Island Playhouse will present The Complete Works of Shakespeare (Abridged) at the Charlestown Arts and Enrichment Center, located at 999 Water Street in Charlestown, IN. Performance dates are Jan. 25, 26, Feb. 1, and 2 at 7:30 p.m. and Jan. 27 at 2:30 p.m.
Tickets for each show are $10 for general admission, $9 if a member of the Rose Island Playhouse, and $8 for students and groups of 10 or more. Tickets can be purchased at the door and can be reserved by calling 812-289-1329.
