The Young, Dumb, and Full of Comedy crew is back at it, systematically assaulting your childhood one pop-culture icon at a time.  This weekend Barbie will join the prestigious list of previous roast honorees that includes Dorothy (from Wizard of Oz), Darth Vader (of Star Wars), and Robocop (of Robocop).  The blonde bombshell Barbie (Mandie McKelvey) will be  on-stage at The Bard’s Town, getting mercilessly barraged by frenemies such as:  Cabbage Patch Kid (Craig Williams), Raggedy Andy (Sean Keller), G.I. Joe (Sean Smith).  There are countless others that are standing in line to jump on the dais for an opportunity to eviscerate her; but of course, the love of her life Ken will also be there to make sure nothing gets too out of hand.  Good luck on that, these shows don't even get started until things get out of hand.

The Roast of Barbie is going on at The Bard’s Town, this Friday and Saturday April 25th and 26th (as well as a third Oaks Night Performance on May 3rd), 10 PM is show time for all three nights, and the ticket $10 in advance and $12 day of show.  You can buy them here.

About Brent Owen

Born and raised in Louisville, I have lived here most of my life (except during a short furlough, when I, lovelorn and naive, followed a girl to Baton Rouge). My roots are here, my family, my friends, and my life are all here. I work primarily as a free-lance writer for a few local and regional publications. I have also written two books (one a memoir, the other a novel) that barring some divine intervention, will probably never see the light of day. I find myself deeply ingrained in the local bar scene, or perhaps better said, I often indulge in the local drinking culture. I love music, movies, comedy, and really just about any other live performance art.
