The start of a new school year is just around the corner. Jefferson County Public Schools start on August 13, Southern Indiana schools started July 31, and other counties are starting up soon. Is your family prepared? Shop locally around Louisville for your back to school items.
1. Find those hard to find and unique school items on your child’s school supply list at The Parent Teacher Store and Toys Too. This store located at 10211 Westport Road is one of my favorites!
2. Go shopping for lunch box goodies at Louisville’s own locally-based neighborhood grocery store, ValuMarket. There are six locations in Louisville.
3. Look for books on your child’s reading lists at local bookstores such as A Reader’s Corner or Carmichael’s. Don’t forget that Carmichael’s Kids is opening in the Highlands during the week of August 4, with their grand opening celebration on August 10.
This list is certainly not all inclusive. See this awesome list from Louisville Independent Business Association (LIBA) for a list of local businesses located in the Louisville area.
Check out this past article about opportunities around Louisville for youth as well.
