It’s no secret that Louisville has some of the best restaurants in the world. Perhaps slightly secret is the fact that we also have some of the best bakeries in the world. Here are five of my favorite spots in town for Saturday morning doughnuts.
4. Sugar and Spice Donuts in Fern Creek makes the doughnut equivalent those fancy-schmancy boutique cupcakes. With such offerings as banana split, funky monkey, and toffee crunch, there’s something to please every doughnut lover in the family. (See Louisville.com's review here.)
3. Jeff’s Bakery in Jeffersonville, Indiana offers over 30 varieties of doughnuts, including such gems as German Chocolate and Caramel Pecan. And they’re high in fiber, too!
