The As Yet Unnamed Theatre Company presents Urinetown.

A revolution against, among other things, public toilets will play out beginning Friday when the As Yet Unnamed Theatre Company presents Urinetown at Kentucky Center.

Urinetown will take place on Mar. 29, 30, Apr. 5, and 6 at 8 p.m. each night.  A show on Mar. 31 will occur at 7:30 p.m., and a show on Apr. 7 will go on at 2:30 p.m.  All performances are to happen in the Mex Theater at Kentucky Center for the Arts, located in downtown Louisville at 501 West Main Street.

Tickets for each two-hour, all ages show are $16 per person.  All tickets can be purchased at the door, the Kentucky Center box office, the Kentucky Center website, or by calling the box office at 1-800-775-7777.

Urinetown is a musical that features themes of greed, corruption, and revolution.  A 20-year drought has led to the banning of private toilets. There are public facilities available, but a greedy conglomerate charges a fee for them.  If they don't pay, or they use other means to relieve themselves, they are severly punished.

One person, however, decides to stand up and fight the power.  Will he be a hero?

Greg Kotis and Mark Hollman created Urinetown, which Sandy Richens Cohrs directed for As Yet Unnamed Theater Company.

More information on the show can be found at the Kentucky Center website.
