The original “Toy Story”! Christmas presents come to life as a very special toy learns what is real and is changed forever in this enchanting new holiday musical based on the classic book by Margery Williams. Santa leads us back to the 1920's to experience this classic tale in a new and vibrant way, and helps us to realize what really matters is Christmas.

A Velveteen Rabbit Christmas was written by Matt & Tina Jo Wallace especially for the Derby Dinner audience. The music was composed by Derby Dinner Musical Director, Scott Bradley. Musical numbers featured are “Friends Like Us”, “Real”, “Tidying Up”, “Prove It”, and more! This musical was directed by Matt Wallace. The cast includes Michelle Johnson, J.R. Stuart, Lem Jackson, Matthew Brennan, Carly Stotts, Kevin Crain, and Brittany Carricato.

All public performances of A Velveteen Rabbit Christmas are on Saturdays with Breakfast at 9:00 a.m. and Lunch at 12:00 p.m. A Breakfast and Lunch performance on Friday - November 25 is also available. All performances feature a kid friendly menu. This production is most suitable for ages 3 - 12. Santa will be at every public performance and will visit every table!

School performances of A Velveteen Rabbit Christmas are available throughout the week and are scheduled for Nov. 21, 22, 29, 30, Dec. 1, 2, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16. Lesson Plans that meet Kentucky and Indiana academic goals are available to enhance the educational opportunities.

Stay tuned, I'll have a review of the new show on Monday.

About Roxane Haynes

I am a working mother of four kids, age five and under, this includes two singletons and a set of twins. When I say working, I mean that I stay at home with them, but work my butt off to take care of them and get the "usual" things done for our home. I also help my husband with our business when I can. B.K. (before kids) I worked in the Human Resource field. Stay At Home Mom is by far my favorite career choice to date.
