Village 8 Louisville Exclusives presents 'Loosies' [Movies]

I must admit to some bafflement about how one can be unknowingly made the victim of a pickpocket. Wallets make a fair bulge in one’s pocket (especially when you take into account today’s ultra-hip skinny jeans) and should my wallet suddenly disappear, the sudden difference would be immediately noticeable. Of course, I have never been the target of a pickpocket; maybe somebody who has can enlighten me.

Anyway, all that to say: Village 8 Louisville Exclusives presents a short run of the film “Loosies,” which will be playing until Thursday, February 9. In the film, Bobby makes his living as a professional pickpocket in New York City. After a one night stand with a beautiful woman, he leaves and forgets about her, until three months later when she shows up pregnant… three months along. Enter the classic process of life re-evaluation. Will he change his ways? Will she learn to love him for who he is? Tune in to find out.

Peter Facinelli stars as Bobby. He is a veteran of such films as “Riding in Cars With Boys” and “The Scorpion King,” but unfortunately his most recent claim to fame is his role as Dr. Carlisle Cullen in the “Twilight Saga” movie series. There is no official word on whether we will see him sparkle in “Loosies.” Jaimie Alexander co-stars as love interest Lucy.

The film is directed by Michael Corrente, an independent filmmaker who made his debut in 1994 with “Federal Hill,” which is sometimes compared to Martin Scorsese’s “Mean Streets.” He is currently best known for his 1996 film “American Buffalo.” He is the head of his own independent production company, Iridium Entertainment.

Village 8 Theater is located at 4014 Dutchman’s Lane. More information about the theater and showtimes can be found at the Village 8 website.
