Melting the Cultural Fringe: an Exploration in Glass of Contemporary (Sub)Culture During the Louisville Visual Arts Festival: Glass 30 and the Intl. Glass Artist Society Conference, Glassworks is excited to bring you a glass exhibition like no other before. From graffiti to hot rods to fashion, all things of urban culture will be examined through glass objects and installations. Co-curator, Slate Grove of Penland School of Craft, will organize a Hot Rod street event, which will feature Glassworks’s very own Juicy Lucy: The Blowin’ Hot Rod. To add to the flavor of this exhibition, the VONFIRE gallery will be transformed by some of Louisville’s most talented graffiti artists who will do live performances during a string of rooftop concerts. This collision of art glass and subculture is certain to be one of the most memorable of any at Louisville Glassworks!
