Did you pay a visit to your polling place yesterday? Did you look fabulous while doing so? I present to you, my dear readers, the fashions of the 2012 U.S. presidential election.
Originally, I had wanted to feature a mix of my fellow bloggers, those in the media, and those in the general public who I thought had great style, no matter what side of the aisle they sat within. Alas, some fell ill, some had schedules that could not work out one way or another. But why let that stop me?
News anchor Claudia Coffey of WHAS-TV is seen here preparing for a long night of election coverage, keeping cozy in a black jacket while adding pearls for that added flair.
Here's another version of Coffey's outfit later into Election Night 2012.
WAVE-TV reporter Jaimie Weiss shows off her new coat and hat while in front of the Van Hoose Education Center, one of the many polling places throughout Louisville.
WDRB-TV anchor Tamara Evans was off-duty for Election Day, so she wore a red and white tweed pea coat, a red cable-knit sweater, and blue nail polish, because #AMERICA!
On my way over to the GOP gathering at Patrick O’Shea’s, I stopped by Insider Louisville to catch Melissa Chipman hard at work in her Obama shirt. Also: NuLu needs more street lamps.
At the Republican affair, where challenger Brooks Wicker conceded to long-runner Rep. John Yarmuth (D-Ky.), I finally completed the local ABC/NBC/CBS/FOX set with this candid of WLKY reporter Jessica Oh in her red and black ensemble. There also would have been a photo of this lovely elephant dress from Boutique Serendipity, but its owner declined to be photographed.
Finally, at the Dems’ party at the Henry Clay Building, I shot this image of Rep. Yarmuth with WLKY reporter Marissa Alter preparing for a live interview as the votes rolled in.
