Your New Year’s resolution is to exercise more. Want to keep it going past Valentine’s Day? The FitLinxx computers built into workout machines at local YMCA branches can help. Here’s how it works: Trainers help you set fitness goals, teach you proper exercise technique and design your workout routine. You sweat; the FitLinxx system does the rest — tracks your repetitions, gives you pointers on form, logs your treadmill and elliptical miles, and stores information about non-machine workouts, such as fitness classes and swimming schedules. Whether at YMCA kiosks or on your home computer, you can track your progress in terms of calories burned and elephants lifted.
