This weekend only, catch a local performance of Lombardi at Actor’s Theatre. The play focuses on a week in the life of famed Greenbay coach Vince Lombardi as he gears him team up for a game against the packers. The story is presented through the perspective of a reporter writing an article about the team.
The story delves deeper than football, being more about the influence of Lombardi on the other character’s lives. There are flashbacks and coachings on life lessons as well as the sport. Robert Florio plays Lombardo and Merwam Stevens plays star player Paul Hornung.
Last night was the opening night, but you still have four nights to catch the all-local production in the Victor Jory theatre. There is a 7:30 showing of Lombardi tonight through Monday night. Tickets are $19.50. However, seniors, children under 14, and students with a valid ID can receive a $5 discount. Monday night is “Industry night” and all tickets receive a $5 discount.
