When is the first day of summer?

According to the Old Farmer’s Almanac website, www.almanac.com, the summer solstice began today, Friday, June 21, 2013 at 1:04 a.m. Summer solstice, commonly referred to as the first day of summer, is the day we enjoy the most daylight for the entire year. The sun will reach its most northern point at precisely noon, local time, and after that hour daylight slightly decreases in length each day.

So, what should you do to celebrate the longest day of the year? See this local event happening this evening by clicking here.
