Filson’s Bourbon Salon at Oxmoor Farm

The first of a series of Bourbon-themed events will take place on June 5thin the library of historic Oxmoor Farm. Attendees will benefit from the knowledge of various Bourbon experts as well as compelling discussion and stories, and of course Bourbon tastings. This event brings together Susan Reigler, Fred Minnick, and Chet Zoeller, whose books focus on the heritage of Kentucky’s Distilling Industry. The group will discuss the role of distilling in Kentucky and how it has contributed to the growing Bourbon tourism industry in the state.

Friends of the Library Spring Book Sale

The Louisville Free Public Library is holding their spring "Friends of the Library" book sale! Stop by the South Louisville Community Center this weekend for some great deals on books, videos, audiobooks, and more.

Republic Bank First Friday Trolley Hop along Main and Market

The First Friday Trolley Hop is an art show, tourist attraction, street party, and celebration of downtown Louisville that brings new visitors and new life to the Main and Market corridor. The Trolley Hop takes place on the first Friday of each month from 5-11 p.m., rain or shine. Although most of the galleries close around 9 p.m., the restaurants, clubs, and shops will remain open and the trolleys run until 11 p.m. The First Friday Trolley Hop can be boarded at any trolley stop along the route on Market and Main Street, between Campbell and 10th Street. Free parking is available at Slugger Field, Main Street at Jackson, and the 4th St. Live! garage after 6 p.m. Free parking is also available on the street after 6 p.m.

Germantown-Schnitzelburg Blues Festival 2014
The Fifth Annual Germantown Schnitzelburg Blues Festival takes place on Friday, June 6 and Saturday, June 7, 2014. A portion of this year's proceeds will benefit Kosair Charities. On Friday, the featured music acts will be Noah Wotherspoon, da Mudcats, and The Beat Daddys. On Saturday, enjoy music by Big Poppa Stampley & Voodou Gumbo, G. Miles & the Hitmen, and Lamont Gillispie & 100 Proof. This festival is free; bring a lawn chair and enjoy!

Music legends and Grammy Award-winning artists Willie Nelson and Alison Krauss & Union Station featuring Jerry Douglas will join together for an unforgettable night on June 6th. This historic tour marks the first time that Willie Nelson and Family & Alison Krauss and Union Station featuring Jerry Douglas have shared the stage together. Both Nelson and Krauss have amassed too many credentials to succinctly summarize. Suffice it to say that the two groups’ unique personalities combined with impeccable musicianship and decades of award-winning songs are sure to create a show full of legendary moments.

Portland Festival 2014
Come to Portland for the annual Portland Festival, complete with booths, food and even cutest kid and cutest pet contests. The Portland Festival (also known as the Portland Family Reunion) is a yearly festival in the Portland neighborhood. Not only is it a celebration of our often-overlooked neighborhood and a chance for families to reconnect, it's also a fundraiser for various neighborhood charities.

Arts on the Green at the LaGrange Courthouse
On June 7th and 8th, the LaGrange Courthouse square comes to life with the 15th annual Arts on the Green, a juried fine arts and crafts festival, with original handcrafted painting, mixed media, photography, ceramics, sculpture, glass, jewelry, consumables, metal, wood and fiber. Come meet 120 + artists from local to national artists.

Pies + Play for No Kid Hungry at Garage Bar
Pizza, custard, games and more – all to support No Kid Hungry. Kids can build their own pizza, make custard sundaes, learn gardening tips, and play games – all while the adults indulge in tasty bites from local chefs, beer, wine, and cocktails. We’ll provide everything you need for all of the activities; you’ll provide your family’s generous spirit. Your participation will help support Share Our Strength’s No Kid Hungry campaign. Since its launch, the No Kid Hungry campaign has successfully connected low-income children around the nation to more than 107 million additional meals. Everyone can do their part to help end childhood hunger.
