The musical, which opened on Broadway in 2003 and immediately began playing to sold-out houses, spawned numerous national tours and instigated a major uptick in green makeup sales, is back in town.
Wicked, via songs such as, “Popular” and “What is this Feeling?” tells the tale of green-skinned Elphaba and her unlikely friend Glinda as they grow to become known as the Wicked Witch of the West and Glinda the Good Witch, the well-known characters from The Wizard of Oz.
The musical is based on the 1995 novel of the same name by author Gregory Maguire.
, which is coming to Louisville for its third run, opens September 12 and plays through September 30 at the Kentucky Center as part of the PNC Broadway series
