Winter storm delays garbage and recycling pick up on one Highlands street by a week

Print

This photo shows my garbage can and recycling bin (they'd say hello if they could). It also shows my street, or rather the snow on top of my street.

Even accounting for the President's Day holiday last week, Louisville Public Works and Assets was six days late in collecting my trash and recycling. As for the street getting plowed? It doesn't appear that Louisville Public Works and Assets ever got around to that, but thankfully Mother Nature took care of it this weekend.

Did you experience similar problems with government services because of the storm? Please share your experiences in the comments.

Me too

Our trash sat on the curb in Crescent Hill/Clifton for 2 days shy of 2 weeks, and recycling for 2 whole weeks. They never do anything to our street because it is a dead end.

What holiday?

We were SHOCKED to see the garbage truck backing down our dead-end alley (shared among Rutherford/Princeton/Boulevard Napoleon) on Presidents' Day for our normal Monday pickup. Guess they doubled up over by us...?
