As the largest supporter of the Dare to Care Food Bank, Louisville’s largest hunger relief agency, the Yum! Brands Foundation is urging the community to join the fight against hunger this holiday season.  Throughout the months of December, January and February, the Yum! Brands Foundation will donate $1.00 for every new email registered at www.wecanendhunger.net-up to $100,000.  “Requests for food assistance are at an all time high, up 30% from last year,” said Brian Riendeau, Executive Director of the Dare to Care Food Bank. ”The need is great and we encourage the community to visit the www.wecanendhunger.net and click for hunger.”  One in five children is at risk of going to bed hungry each night. Since 2002, Yum! and its associates have committed over $7 million to end hunger in the Kentucky/Indiana area through our partnership with the Dare to Care Food Bank, Louisville’s largest hunger-relief agency. These contributions have enabled the agency to expand their services to reach more at-risk children and home bound elderly.  “We are making a huge impact in the fight against hunger” states Laura Melillo Barnum, Executive Director of the Yum! Brands Foundation. “Our hope is that others will join us in our fight, and that’s why we created the WE CAN end hunger campaign this holiday season.” You can show your support and visit www.wecanendhunger.net or drop off any canned food item on Friday, December 11 at the CW Studio located in the Kaden Towers.  For the first 100 cans received, each individual donation with receive a $5 coupon to one of Yum!’s restaurants.
