Get your go-go boots and bell bottoms on and get ready to party for a great cause. Wendy and David Novak and Yum! Brands are inviting you to join them in the movement to end world hunger by attending the Disco Ball on Saturday, October 8, 2011 at the Kentucky Center for African American Heritage. The KY Center is located at 1701 W. Muhammad Ali Blvd in Downtown Louisville.

The evening will start at 6:30 p.m. for cocktails and dinner begins at 7:30 p.m. Terry Meiners of WHAS television and radio will be the Master of Ceremonies. Tickets are $250 per guest; all proceeds will be donated to the United Nations World Food Program.

In 2007 YUM! Brands decided to commit their global resources to a large-scale crisis that they are well positioned to address – hunger relief. This annual initiative that they call “World Hunger Relief” leveraged the power of our more than one million associates and over 37,000 restaurants to address hunger through awareness, volunteerism and fundraising. With community generosity and the commitment from their associates, franchisees and customers in 100+ countries, YUM! has created the world’s largest private sector hunger relief effort in history. To date, they are proud to have donated nearly $85 million to hunger-related agencies around the globe, helping to provide over 350 million meals and save the lives of millions of people in more than 30 countries.  Their company’s employees, franchisees and their families have volunteered more than 21 million hours to aid hunger relief efforts in communities worldwide.

At the same time YUM! remains committed to solve hunger right here at home.  Sadly, one in five children in Louisville are at risk of going to bed hungry each night. Since 2002, the YUM! Brands Foundation has committed over $9 million to end hunger through our partnership with the local Dare to Care Food Bank, Louisville’s largest hunger relief organization. YUM! continues to thank the community commitment and involvement, they can make an even greater difference and move millions of people “From Hunger to Hope.”

Please purchase tickets by October 2nd.  Event info and reservations can be made by calling (502)874-2040. The dress code is “Dynomite Disco Duds”.
