This open mic will feature performances from Nick Payne, fire dancing and a play by Laurel Fleurry and The Great Baldini, magic by Darshwood and mentalism by Joe Riggs. Louisville Ale Club's Fifth Anniversary Celebration Flanagan's Ale House 934 Baxter Ave. Sept. 19, 6-9 p.m. The Louisville Ale Club turns five years old this weekend and is celebrating with a poetry slam and tea service at a local kibbutz. Kidding. It'll be doing a little afternoon drinking at a pub. More than 100 people attended the Louisville Ale Club's anniversary party last year. 'High Fidelity'--Movie fun to be had BBC Taproom 663 E. Main St. Sept. 19, 8 p.m. Nick Hornby has been in the news with the release later this month of his new book, "Juliet, Naked" and the opening of "An Education," his second screenplay, in October. Watch one his best movies, featuring a brilliant cameo by Bruce Springsteen playing himself, and support the Salvation Army Culinary Training Program at this Go Go Guerrillas! (kind of) event. There'll also be music from Evan Combs of Weber. Tickets are free, although there's a suggested donation of $4. Hambone Gerstle's 3801 Frankfort Ave. Sept. 19, 11 p.m. The hardest-working musician in Louisville, Hambone has three area shows this weekend, the last of which will be late night Saturday at Gerstle's.
