July 25 – August 29: PETER GOOCH PAINTINGS
Narrow, hyper-elongated paintings of abstract strips of color that playfully shift in light and color. Influenced by the formations and rhythms of movement through the landscapes surrounding the Great Lakes in Ontario, Gooch’s paintings create subtle tensions between the jumps in palettes that contrast the organic surfaces within their geometric application.

The Kentucky Museum of Art and Craft is excited to announce that for the 7th year, it will be hosting the Kentucky Art Car Weekend on Friday, August 1st and Saturday, August 2nd, 2008 in conjunction with the First Friday Trolley Hop.
The weekend will kick off with a drive-in movie hosted by the Mellwood Arts Center on Thursday, July 31st at 9pm. Several cars will be on display, while the Mellwood parking lot will become a full fledged drive-in movie theatre, complete with a concession stand and a radio transmitted sound.
