Kicking off the 2008 Kentucky State Fair concert schedule at 8 p.m. in Freedom Hall is the 2008 Academy of Country Music Top Vocal Duet Brooks & Dunn, who have won more than 30 awards highlighting their musical excellence. The duo will wow the crowd with songs from their latest albums “Cowboy Town” and “Hillbilly Deluxe.” ZZ Top will be sharing the stage with Brooks & Dunn and special guest Rodney Atkins who won the 2006 ACM award for the Top New Male Vocalist.

Kicking off the 2008 Kentucky State Fair concert series with a bang is metal band P.O.D. Together for nearly 20 years, this band has stood the test of time. These Grammy-nominated, multi-platinum artists are devoted to their fans and making music that speaks to people. The group reached out to many in the aftermath of September 11 with their positive single “Alive” and to those coping with the aftermath of many school shootings when they released their hit “Youth of the Nation.”
