Fairgoers will have the opportunity to experience the excitement of “High School Musical” when many of its stars perform on the second night of the fair.

Midnight Star will open with music from their platinum-selling albums “No Parking on the Dance Floor” and “Planetary Invasion.” Then, fairgoers are in for a treat when the No. 1 R&B group of all time, Boyz II Men, performs songs from the albums that have earned them Grammy’s for best vocal group and best album. The group will croon out crowd-pleasers such as “On Bended Knee,” “It’s So Hard to Say Goodbye to Yesterday” and “I’ll Make Love to You.” When fairgoers leave this concert, they will know that Boyz II Men has certainly not reached the end of the road.

The Kentucky State Fair is an 11-day celebration of the history, heritage and culture of the Bluegrass State. More than 600,000 attend America’s largest indoor fair, which uses over 1.2 million square feet of contiguous exhibit space at the Kentucky Exposition Center. While its roots are in agriculture, the Kentucky State Fair has grown into a trade and public education exposition, as well as a major entertainment venue. Be a Part of It!!

July 25 – August 29: PETER GOOCH PAINTINGS Narrow, hyper-elongated paintings of abstract strips of color that playfully shift in light and color. Influenced by the formations and rhythms of movement through the landscapes surrounding the Great Lakes in Ontario, Gooch’s paintings create subtle tensions between the jumps in palettes that contrast the organic surfaces within their geometric application.

This exhibit will feature new work by Dayton, Ohio artist Peter Gooch. Gallery hours are Mon-Fri 10-5:30pm and Sat 10-3pm.

This exhibit will feature work by Kerry Lawrence. Lawrence specializes in timepieces, stand alone and wall clocks and hand built furniture.

Learn about Indiana painter Sid Crosier (1858-1930), who came to realize that decisions of the spirit are more important than opportunity. Tuesday-Saturday, 10 am-5:30 pm.

This exhibition is a competition for Kentucky artists. The show includes over 30 artists and many different mediums; most works are for sale. The grand prize is $500 and a solo exhibit.

Tradition and Innovation: American Masterpieces of Southern Craft and Traditional art is an initiative of the National Endowment for the Arts. This exhibit will feature works by 60 artists and craftspeople from throughout the Southern Arts Federation's nine partner states.

Howard Schatz Redux features the stunningly beautiful color images of ballerinas, models, and acrobats from Cirque du Soleil, all photographed underwater. This exhibit will include those works that were not showcased in the Paul Paletti "H20" exhibition.

Dinosaurs Alive combines stunningly realistic and scientifically accurate computer generated imagery with intriguing documentary footage, dramatic new scenes of real fossils and current dinosaur hunting expeditions.

Assume the role of a dinosaur from the Cretaceous period and explore ways that dinosaurs may have related to one another and their environment.

May 17 through August 31 with a reception for the artists on May 17 from 5-7 PM. Jen Pellerin and Samantha Griffith of Louisville are among the 10 sculptors presented. Admission is free.

The Frazier International History Museum invites you on a righteous trip back to the days of the cultural and political awakening that was the 1960s. This temporary exhibition displays an inspirational collection of 150 photographs from the archives of Look Magazine photographer Stanley Tretick.

Explore the shadow-filled streets of Louisville during this 90 minute tour. Your lantern bearing guide will lead you through the dark mysteries of Louisville's landmarks.
