On November 1, KMAC will be having its 3rd Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) Festival. Day of the Dead is a joyous holiday that originated in Mexico. This celebration honors the lives of deceased loved ones and the continuation of life. In this tradition, death is not seen as the end, but rather a new stage of life. This year KMAC’s celebration will include a traditional public altar to honor loved ones, a workshop, as well as a fun festival which will have food, music, art, a sugar skull contest, fire dancers, face painting and puppets.

The Louisville Artisans Guild will kick off the holiday shopping season with its annual Holiday Showcase at the American Legion Highland Post in Louisville, Nov 1st and 2nd. The Louisville Nimble Thimbles quilt guild is 28 years young and is dedicated to exploring the art of quiltmaking. All skill levels are welcomed and encouraged. We meet the first Thursday of the month at 6:30pm and the third Thursday of the month at 10am. Guest speakers, teachers and lecturers lead hands on classes and demonstrations which allow our members to learn more about the art of quilting.
