Teachers and parents are invited to find out more about field trips to Blackacre. For 25 years, students have come to Blackacre to learn about Kentucky's natural environment and early settlement history. Field trips are offered to school groups ranging from kindergarten through college including both JCPS and non-JCPS groups. Teachers are encouraged to use the field trip as either an introductory foundation experience to new material

Join us in welcoming the Monks of the Drepung Gomang Monastery as they create a Medicine Buddha Sand Mandala, the Healing Buddha, to invoke healing of the mind and body and promote well-being. The ancient Buddhist art of 'sand painting' is a time consuming, delicate process of creating an intricate design using millions of colored sand particles. The monks will be working on the mandala for 6 hrs a day over 5 days.

Tatjana Krizmanic "Journeys". New pastel drawings by Colorado artist. Krizmanic’s pastel works are whimsical displays of European-influenced public and domestic scenes in brilliant strokes of color, making what would seem to be an ordinary occurrence into an extraordinary experience. Her work contains a warm cheerfulness where shifting perspectives make everyday settings come to life.
