More than 50,000 shoppers are expected to attend the 2008 Christmas Gift & Décor Show to browse more than 700 booths of Christmas crafts and gift items. Each day the first 500 children will receive free pictures with Santa.

The Mazin Annual Art Exhibition was conceived and created by Bernice and Benjamin Mazin and the Jewish Community Center’s Visual Arts Committee. Flame Run contemporary art glass studio is marking the arrival of its newest resident artist – Jonathan Capps -- with “Glass Connections,” an exhibit that celebrates the studio’s friendships and connections to glass artists at Centre College and around the world. The show opens Oct. 3 and runs through Nov. 15. An opening reception begins at 6 p.m. on Oct. 3.

The Frazier hosts Liberty on the Border: A Civil War Exhibit September 27, 2008 through January 19, 2009 as part of the Lincoln Bicentennial.

The Speed Art Museum in Louisville premieres one of the most important collections of American art in the world. Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness: American Art from the Yale University Art Gallery features the best American art from 1660 to 1900, presenting a glimpse into the history of this great nation from its pre-Revolutionary beginnings to the Gilded Age.

The American Tapestry Alliance is a 25 year old non-profit organization that promotes and supports tapestry weaving. The tapestries featured in the exhibition demonstrate the diverse and creative ways in which individual artists successfully integrate contemporary concerns into this venerable medium.

Dinosaurs Alive combines stunningly realistic and scientifically accurate computer generated imagery with intriguing documentary footage, dramatic new scenes of real fossils and current dinosaur hunting expeditions.
