Christmas Presence is a contemporary nativity play that re-imagines Jesus’ birth as though it took place in 2008. In the play, Joseph and Mary attend their senior prom on the same night an angel informs Mary that she will bear a child. Later, members of a motorcycle gang stand in for the traditional shepherds, and a foreign ambassador brings gold, frankincense, and myrrh to the newborn king.

This holiday season, Norton Commons presents The 2008 Holiday Home Tour to benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Greater Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana, Kentucky Region. The Mazin Annual Art Exhibition was conceived and created by Bernice and Benjamin Mazin and the Jewish Community Center’s Visual Arts Committee. Food for Thought is a luncheon and lecture series showcasing local artists. This month's guest speaker is Lloyd Kelly an internationally renowned realist painter. His work mostly includes landscapes, still lifes, and equestrian subjects and is characterized by attention to detail and meticulous technique. In 2006 he created mural for the Kentucky Derby Musuem. He has exhibited both internationally and across the United States.

The Frazier hosts Liberty on the Border: A Civil War Exhibit September 27, 2008 through January 19, 2009 as part of the Lincoln Bicentennial.

The Speed Art Museum in Louisville premieres one of the most important collections of American art in the world. Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness: American Art from the Yale University Art Gallery features the best American art from 1660 to 1900, presenting a glimpse into the history of this great nation from its pre-Revolutionary beginnings to the Gilded Age.
