Christmas Presence is a contemporary nativity play that re-imagines Jesus’ birth as though it took place in 2008. In the play, Joseph and Mary attend their senior prom on the same night an angel informs Mary that she will bear a child. Later, members of a motorcycle gang stand in for the traditional shepherds, and a foreign ambassador brings gold, frankincense, and myrrh to the newborn king.

Jamie Kaler, one of the stars in the new comedy series "My Boys" on TBS, brings his comedy to Improv Comedy Club December 17-21. Jamie Kaler is known for making people laugh with recurring parts on "Will and Grace", "King of Queens", "Significant Others", as well as the Seth Green animated show "Robot Chicken". He's also been seen as a guest star on shows such as "Monk" and "Friends", and has appeared in films like "Underclassmen", "Spanglish", and "The Family Stone".

This holiday season, Norton Commons presents The 2008 Holiday Home Tour to benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Greater Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana, Kentucky Region. Tickets are a suggested donation of $5.00; all proceeds will help grant wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions. The tour will be offered on Sunday, December 7 and December 14 from 2 to 5 p.m. The guided Trolley Tour will begin at 9420 Norton Commons Boulevard, and will allow a first-hand glimpse of seven spacious homes and cottages of Norton Commons that will be open to the public.

A HOLIDAY “HANG-UP” TO CHERISH ORNAMENT-MAKING OPEN TO PUBLIC BY APPOINTMENT LOUISVILLE, KY – Be an artist for a day and create your own blown-glass ornament with the help of the glass artists at Flame Run contemporary art glass studio. Guests have the opportunity to choose their own colors and then actually blow their own ornament.

The Mazin Annual Art Exhibition was conceived and created by Bernice and Benjamin Mazin and the Jewish Community Center’s Visual Arts Committee. The event is funded by the Mazin Visual Arts Fund and is a regional juried art exhibition of 2-D and 3-D art, open to residents of Kentuckiana 18 years and older. The exhibit is designed to foster an appreciation of today’s visual art and to reflect the breadth of artistic vision of local artists.

Every year during the Holiday Season, the Kentucky Hemophilia Foundation holds a Poinsettia fund-raiser.  We depend on proceeds from the sale of the poinsettias to support patient services, educational programs, and research for a cure.

The Speed Art Museum in Louisville premieres one of the most important collections of American art in the world. Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness: American Art from the Yale University Art Gallery features the best American art from 1660 to 1900, presenting a glimpse into the history of this great nation from its pre-Revolutionary beginnings to the Gilded Age.

The American Tapestry Alliance is a 25 year old non-profit organization that promotes and supports tapestry weaving.
