Actors Theater Improv group, After Terrance Left will be performing from 9pm-10:30pm at Bearno's By-The-Bridge. This event is in preparation of the 33rd Annual Humana Festival of New American Plays.

DinnerWorks is an invitational exhibit of 15 sets of handmade dinnerware displayed on designer-decorated tables. Artists from around the country are invited to participate in the exhibit. Each artist is required to produce 8 place settings of dinnerware to be displayed. Each designer is given an approximately 9 x 11 foot space in which to create an environment that is both visually appealing and complementary to the dinnerware artist’s work.

The mid-South’s premier show for outdoor enthusiasts returns to the Kentucky Exposition Center for nine days of fun for the whole family. Attendees can shop for and book their next vacation, then visit hundreds of booths that showcase the latest in boating, fishing, hunting, camping and RVing. Special attractions include the Take Me Fishing Center, seminars from hunting and fishing pros, canine athlete competitions and the Kids Adventure Trail.

Infinite Riches in a Little Room is an exhibit of local artists who have participated in LVAA's Food for Thought program. A montly luncheon and lecture series. This is exhibit will run side by side with DinnerWorks 2009. Come and see an exhibit rich in culture and support your local artists! “Oil and Water” is the newest art exhibit at the Jewish Community Center’s Patio Gallery. The Patio Gallery, located in the lobby, is the elegant setting for imaginative exhibits featuring the innovative artwork of locally, nationally and internationally recognized artists. “Oil and Water” is comprised of both oil and watercolor paintings from a local husband and wife team, Patricia Ritter and George McCracken.

B. Deemer Gallery presents the latest series of landscape paintings by artist, Ellen Glasgow. A reception will be held for the artist on Saturday, January 10 from 2 - 4 PM and the exhibition will continue through February 17, 2009.

Kendal R. Miller of Photography by Kendal will be the featured artist at Signatures of Switzerland County during the Vevay Main Street Jan. 2 “Happy New Year” First Friday event. Miller will show new works, including new local and area landscapes and nostalgic memorabilia. She will also demonstrate the art of hand-coloring photographs with pencils—now more often done by computer.

Place second pastry sheet on top of the first and butter again. Repeat until 6 layers of buttered pastry sheets have been built up.

In addition to broad principles, this class explores a basic abstract "alphabet," the fractured image, spatial arrangement, the image forsaken, and textural devices.

Learn the process of creating your own original art by making prints from carved linoleum blocks. Make prints in time to give original gifts to your family and friends for the holidays. Linoleum blocks can be used to make holiday cards or just be given as unique art prints.

The world as we know it today was shaped by the events that took place between September 1939 and September 1945, but how different would the world be if, at key moments during that period, history had taken an alternative path? In this class we will review the actual details of some of the most pivotal events of the war, and then examine the possible, even probable impact on the world had the outcome of those events been different.

This course is for beginning and intermediate watercolor artists who want to improve their range of techniques in the application of watercolor paint to paper and learn how to move the paint on the paper. Students can build their repertoire of techniques to achieve specific effects. Individual instruction will be provided in a group setting with demonstrations of technique along with observation and critique of technique development. Personal feedback will be provided in a constructive and interactive manner.
