The Global Game Jam (GGJ) encourages people to challenge themselves and be creative. Over the course of a weekend you and a team of game makers will build a computer game from paper prototype to finished marvel. The game theme will be given to you on the first day of the event - what you do with the theme is your choice.

This 3rd annual event, benefitting Girl Scouts of Kentuckiana, features more than 30 restaurants making gourmet desserts using Girl Scout Cookies as the main ingredient--and you're invited to sample them all. This cookie dessert extravaganza will also include a chance auction, live music, signature drinks, a cash bar and hors d’oeuvres.

B. Deemer Gallery presents the latest series of landscape paintings by artist, Ellen Glasgow. A reception will be held for the artist on Saturday, January 10 from 2 - 4 PM and the exhibition will continue through February 17, 2009.

Kendal R. Miller of Photography by Kendal will be the featured artist at Signatures of Switzerland County during the Vevay Main Street Jan. 2 “Happy New Year” First Friday event. Miller will show new works, including new local and area landscapes and nostalgic memorabilia. She will also demonstrate the art of hand-coloring photographs with pencils—now more often done by computer.

Stop by the Hall of Governors to examine objects and documents that illustrate the lives and achievements of Kentucky governors. Free. This hands-on cart will be available every Thursday in Janury.
