In a couple of weeks the Speed Art Museum will close the largest exhibition it has ever hosted, Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness: American Art from the Yale University Art Gallery. This must- see exhibition includes drawings, prints, photographs, furniture, silver, and ceramics from Yale University’s renowned collection of 18th- and 19th-century American fine and decorative arts including John Trumbull's painting of the signing of the Declaration of Independence and silver crafted by Paul Revere.

Kendal R. Miller of Photography by Kendal will be the featured artist at Signatures of Switzerland County during the Vevay Main Street Jan. 2 “Happy New Year” First Friday event. Miller will show new works, including new local and area landscapes and nostalgic memorabilia. She will also demonstrate the art of hand-coloring photographs with pencils—now more often done by computer.

This is a wholistic course of study that will aid anyone willing to put forth the effort to improve all areas of their life. Come be a part of the third session of the Frazier Museum Sword Guild and learn the art of combat and sword fighting!! Barrett Cooper, Manager of the Interpretation Department, and Eric Frantz, Interpreter, will instruct students in the art of the long sword and stage combat utilizing the text of the 14th and 15th centuries! Over the course of 8 classes, each student learns the proper techniques for combat sword fighting used by the Frazier's own Intepretation Department. No prior experience is necessary. The Frazier Sword Guild will supply all weaponry and equipment needed.

The Frazier hosts Liberty on the Border: A Civil War Exhibit September 27, 2008 through January 19, 2009 as part of the Lincoln Bicentennial.
