About the Artist: Since graduating from Washington University in St. Louis with a major in architecture, Casey has traveled through Seattle, Tennessee, North Carolina, and New York studying and working at craft schools. These schools have included Pilchuck, Appalachian Center for Crafts, Penland, UrbanGlass and the Studio at Corning.

Exhibit Description: Casey Hyland's glass art exhibit, "Wishful Thinking", will feature artwork produced over the last three years. Using silvered bottles, clear stones, thin steel rods with glass and bubbles inside bubbles, the artwork describes moments of gazing into the mirror at a bar, stacking stones, blowing wishes with a dandelion and playing with soap bubbles.
As well, Casey will also install a hanging chandelier in Glassworks' main lobby. Entitled "Offering", the silvered glass sculpture is loosely inspired by Shel Silverstein's"The Giving Tree".

The Center for Photographic Studies was a Louisville alternative school for creative photography founded by C.J. Pressma in 1970. During its eight-year existence, the Center attracted students from over 35 states and foreign countries to its full-time resident program and provided instruction and darkroom access for hundreds of students in the Louisville area. This exhibition will be a look back at the artistic career of C.J. Pressma.

Friends for Hope is a non-profit organization created for the purpose of supporting adult cancer survivors, family members and caregivers through friendship, love and laughter. Monthly support group meetings are on the 1st Thursday of the month from 7-8:30 pm at Hosparus, 3532 Ephraim McDowell Drive. Friends for Hope offers two weekend retreat camps, one in the spring and one in the fall.
