University of Wisconsin-Madison professor, Carolyn Kallenborn, will be presenting her fiber artwork in the Patio Gallery at the Jewish Community Center of Louisville (JCC). Kallenborn’s exhibit “Sanctuary” has been inspired by the improvisational and interactive altars that she has seen during her time in Oaxaca, Mexico and will be on display Aug. 23-Oct. 13.

The JCC CenterStage is offering two musical theatre classes for ages 5-8 and 8-15. Working with theatre professionals, children will learn acting, singing and dancing culminating in a musical theatre performance on Tuesday, Dec. 15. The students will be performing Disney's "Adventures in Alice in Wonderland". In addition to the motorcycles, memorabilia and accessories, “Wind in Your Hair -Vintage Motorcycles” will include visual artists’ interpretations of the freedom, movement and exhilaration that motorcycles have represented in our society and culture. KMAC will also present a series of restoration and customizing workshops, lectures about collecting motorcycles and the cultural influences of motorcycles in the 20th & 21st centuries.

In conjunction with the nation-wide celebration of Abraham Lincoln’s Bicentennial, this exhibition will take you on Louisville artist Ed Hamilton’s artistic journey to create the Louisville Waterfront Park Lincoln Memorial. The memorial features a young Abraham Lincoln reading a book. The exhibition will features early clay sculptures of the piece, plaster models, drawings, and the 12-foot final models of the Lincoln sculpture, as well as early sketches of the panels of bas-relief sculptures depicting scenes of slavery and Lincoln’s extraordinary life.
