University of Wisconsin-Madison professor, Carolyn Kallenborn, will be presenting her fiber artwork in the Patio Gallery at the Jewish Community Center of Louisville (JCC). Kallenborn’s exhibit “Sanctuary” has been inspired by the improvisational and interactive altars that she has seen during her time in Oaxaca, Mexico and will be on display Aug. 23-Oct. 13.

The JCC CenterStage is offering two musical theatre classes for ages 5-8 and 8-15. Working with theatre professionals, children will learn acting, singing and dancing culminating in a musical theatre performance on Tuesday, Dec. 15. The students will be performing Disney's "Adventures in Alice in Wonderland".

Individuals wishing to donate to the drive, may drop off any new or gently used stuffed animals to the center at 720 West Jefferson Street. In conjunction with the nation-wide celebration of Abraham Lincoln’s Bicentennial, this exhibition will take you on Louisville artist Ed Hamilton’s artistic journey to create the Louisville Waterfront Park Lincoln Memorial. The memorial features a young Abraham Lincoln reading a book. The exhibition will features early clay sculptures of the piece, plaster models, drawings, and the 12-foot final models of the Lincoln sculpture, as well as early sketches of the panels of bas-relief sculptures depicting scenes of slavery and Lincoln’s extraordinary life.
