Music Together is an early childhood music & movement program based on the belief that all children are musical! Filled with developmentally appropriate activities, Music Together classes build on your child's natural enthusiasm for music and movement and are designed so that newborns, toddlers and pre-schoolers can take this musical journey together.

Mark’s Feed Store redefines the meaning of competition this fall with the “Back to School Wing Eating Contest.” Held on Thursday, Sept. 24 at 5 p.m., the contest will feature a variety of Middletown principals and school representatives, trying to eat their way to the top for the pride of their school. The contest will take place at the Mark’s Feed Store in Middletown, located at 11422 Shelbyville Road. Middletown schools who have signed on include Hite Elementary, Eastern High School and Middletown Elementary.

Louisville Metro Youth Detention Services will host a stuffed animal drive from August 1-31 to benefit Kosair Charities’ “Bears on Patrol” Program. Individuals wishing to donate to the drive, may drop off any new or gently used stuffed animals to the center at 720 West Jefferson Street. Body Wellness, a physical fitness program for adults who have lost muscle tone and flexibility or for persons who are recuperating, is taught from 10-10:45 a.m. and again from 10:45-11:30 a.m. each Monday, Wednesday and Friday at the Baptist East/Milestone Wellness Center, 750 Cypress Station Drive. The class fee is free to Wellness Center members; $4 per class or $40 for 10 classes for non-members.

Through engaging imagery, artifacts, portraits, and Lincoln’s own words, Beyond the Log Cabin: Kentucky’s Abraham Lincoln presents the untold story of his lifelong engagement with Kentucky and Kentuckians and the relationships that shaped his life, helped to pave the way for his political rise and, during the Civil War, kept Kentucky in the Union. Taking a broad view of Lincoln, this exhibition explores the complex relationship between Abraham Lincoln and his native state.

In conjunction with the nation-wide celebration of Abraham Lincoln’s Bicentennial, this exhibition will take you on Louisville artist Ed Hamilton’s artistic journey to create the Louisville Waterfront Park Lincoln Memorial. The memorial features a young Abraham Lincoln reading a book. The exhibition will features early clay sculptures of the piece, plaster models, drawings, and the 12-foot final models of the Lincoln sculpture, as well as early sketches of the panels of bas-relief sculptures depicting scenes of slavery and Lincoln’s extraordinary life.
