Utilizing heat, gravity, and time students will create an array of fused and slumped creations. This is a great class for people interested in learning the technical basics of kiln working. Learn about scoring glass, melting temperatures, annealing, and many more technical tips. Tools and materials will be provided; however if students have glass cutting tools they are comfortable with they are welcome to bring them. No previous glass working experience is necessary.

In this two part class you will create an abstract design using small pre-cut pieces of glass. The next day you will grout your tray to finish your functional work of art. Each tray is 13 x 19 x 1 ½ inches. No previous glass working, tiling or grouting experience is necessary. Pieces may be taken after the second day and sealed at home.

This month's guest speaker is Lloyd Kelly an internationally renowned realist painter. His work mostly includes landscapes, still lifes, and equestrian subjects and is characterized by attention to detail and meticulous technique. In 2006 he created mural for the Kentucky Derby Musuem.
