A daily meditation is the key to serenity. All beginners and established practioners are welcome. This will be a progressive series of universal mindfulness and meditation that crosses boundaries of cultures and religions. Lynn's Paradise Café hosted the 12th annual Ugly Lamp Contest, which included the born ugly and made ugly categories, as well as the new Leg Lamp category created especially for Actors Theatre's production of A Christmas Story. Lamps will be displayed at the Kentucky State Fair August 20 - 30. After the contest entrants may pick up their lamps at Lynn's, or are invited to donate their lamps for display at Actors Theatre and Lynn's Paradise Café.

Designed for amateurs and first-time brewers, this class explores the process of home brewing beer from start to finish. Topics include brewing with malt extract; a brief history of brewing; necessary equipment; cooking and cooling the wart; fermentation; bottling and carbonation; and alternative types of brewing. Fee includes supplies used in class but not an individual home brewing kit, which is NOT required for participation. Class meets on 6 consecutive Thursday nights beginning on October 1.

Tai Chi in Nature Thursdays, April 16 – June 25 Bernheim Arboretum and Research Forest offers a valuable sanctuary for creating a healthier mind, body and spirit any time of the year. This spring, Bernheim is enhancing these benefits of nature with Tai Chi classes. Mfundishi Baba Serikali will be teaching an introductory course in the Yang Style 24 posture form of Tai Chi Chuan, including stretching, breath work and meditation. The ten-week course is April 16 – June 25, with classes meeting Thursday evenings from 5:30 – 7pm.
