What is Hollydays? The Junior League of Louisville’s Hollydays Art and Gift Market hosts over 60 unique vendors from across the country and is held at the Mellwood Arts and Entertainment Center. Hollydays features upscale gift items, including art and photography, home decor, jewelry, gourmet food, children's clothing, women's accessories and much more. This year will be the fourth year for the event.

Ornaments in glass, wood, wool, felt, clay, and metal can be found at the New Harmony Gallery of Contemporary Art. Coinciding with the annual event, Christmas in New Harmony, come visit the gallery to view our beautiful array of ornaments. Remember when you were a kid and how hard it was to find a gift for your parents that was a REAL surprise? Send the special child in your life to Holiday Camp at KMAC where they can make gifts for parents or grandparents and have a fun art experience while they're at it. This year students will explore the process of silk painting and students will also work with polymer clay to create a millefiore or mosaic patterned gift. That's all we're saying, we don't want to give the surprise away!

Learn what makes a snake a snake! A live animal presentation will accompany a picture presentation. Participants will learn what defines a snake and how these adaptations benefit the animal instead of working against it. Members of the Herpetological Society, Ian Curtis and Brett Whitaker, will be on hand to answer questions after the presentation. Reservations appreciated.

Take part in “Home for the Holidays,” a family discovery day featuring plenty of music and good cheer, as we explore holiday traditions from all corners of the globe, such as Christmas, Kwanzaa, Las Posadas, Hanukkah, the Winter Solstice and the Chinese New Year. The beautiful 1895 Conrad-Caldwell House Museum on St. James Court is a star attraction on the tour where Christmas and Hanukah shoppers will find great holiday gift ideas in the basement gift shop including a special silent auction of gingerbread houses to benefit the Old Louisville Information Center in Central Park. The handmade gingerbread houses are donated by Terry Rabalais, A Piece of Cake; Leah Stewart, The Gallery House; Gabi Thomas, Nord’s Bakery; and Kamah Patel, The Dessert Company.

In July, at the Geek Show Episode 1, Divinity Rose made a promise to fanboys everywhere ( and by everywhere we mean facebook). DJ Scene returns to Hotel Nightclub on Saturday, December 5th!

The Frankfort Avenue Business Association's “Olde Tyme Christmas on Frankfort Avenue” will be held Saturday, December 5, 2009 from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. The celebration will include annual events, such as the Santa Sprint and Stroll, the festive Dog Walk, and the Good Neighbor Awards.
