Learn about the Venetian technique of cane working in this 2-day workshop. On the first day, Benjamin and Rebekah will assist you in designing and pulling out a variety of cane (a long & thin glass rod used in decorative glasswork). You will learn how to gather from the furnace, apply color, and stretch glass cane over the length of the studio. The second day, you will be instructed on how to apply the cane to a glass vessel, the cup. With the assistance of your instructor, you will be taking home your very own Venetian cup!

The monstrous course of bigotry and deceit are terrifyingly depicted through the story of a young farmer, his wife, and a young servant-girl who maliciously causes the wife's arrest for witchcraft. The farmer brings the girl to court to admit the lie-and instead of saving his wife, finds himself also accused of witchcraft and ultimately condemned with a host of others.

Beginning the week of Jan. 18, the Baptist Hospital East Cancer Care Center will offer a Cancer and Restorative Exercise (CARE) group session for those diagnosed with cancer in 2009. In the program, personal trainers specially instructed in working with cancer patients will design a workout for each participant. The groups will workout at the Baptist East/Milestone Wellness Center, 750 Cypress Station Drive. The cost is $200 which includes 20 visits and a three-month Wellness Center membership.
