The Creative Spaces Rural Places Studio Art Tour weekend will take place Saturday & Sunday, April 20 & 21, 2013 throughout galleries, studios, and businesses in the Indiana counties of Switzerland and Ohio.
Nearly 50 artists specializing in sculpture, paintings, glass, fiber, steel, chainsaw carvings, jewelry, wood, photography and more are scheduled to appear in locations throughout both counties. Artist demonstrations will be taking place during the tour.
“The collaboration of the counties during this event exposes the public to a wide array of artistic talent in the area,” said Kendal Miller, public relations spokesperson for the Creative Spaces Rural Places event.
Now in its sixth year, the event attracts attendees from the tri-state and beyond. Several Dearborn County artists will be participating in Heritage Hall located in Ohio County. Guests are invited to enter into artists’ studios, galleries, homes, and local businesses to view hundreds of pieces of fine arts and crafts and meet the artists who create them.
“This art tour is full of wonderful opportunities to not only familiarize locals and tourists with Switzerland and Ohio Counties, but to meet and converse with its artists in their personal and professional environments,” explained Miller. “Plan on staying the weekend or make it a day trip—there is so much talent and wonderful art to see.”
The tour is from 10am-6pm on Saturday and noon-6:00pm on Sunday. It is free and open to the public. Participating artists will have artwork available for sale.
