On September 5, 1960 in Rome, Italy, 18-year old Cassius Clay won Olympic gold in the light heavyweight division. After turning professional (and changing his name to Muhammad Ali), the Champ went on to become the first boxer to win the heavyweight championship three times. On Sunday, September 5, 2010, between 12 noon and 5:00 pm, the Muhammad Ali Center will mark this historic 50-year anniversary with a series of special events, activities, and discounts.
