Awaken your Mind, Body, and Spirit!
UCHM Announces Health & Wellness Program
United Crescent Hill Ministries is excited to usher new energy into our Community this Fall! Beginning Monday, September 23, we will offer new classes with the goal of nourishing your mind, body, and spirit. UCHM will kick off our Health & Wellness program with two options: Ageless Grace® and Tai Chi. Both classes will be held at The UCHM Community Center, 150 S. State Street at Frankfort Avenue.
Ageless Grace®, presented by “Shine Out and About” through Shine Wellness Studio, is a fitness and wellness program created by Denise Medved. The program, led by Ann Adams or another certified Ageless Grace® educator, consists of 21 simple exercise tools designed for all ages and abilities, focusing on the healthy longevity of the body and mind. Its natural and organic movements are designed to be performed seated in a chair, to level the playing field and to fully engage your core.
Join us for this 30-minute class, and you will be surprised at the benefits that you receive in your body! With Ageless Grace®, “It’s never too late to begin, and it’s never too early to start.” For additional information on Ageless Grace®, please visit www.agelessgrace.com.
WHEN: Mondays (beginning 9/23) at 1:30pm
COST: Your first class is free of charge, $5 per 30-minute session thereafter
UCHM is also excited to bring the Tai Chi experience under our roof, led by certified instructor Rita Myers. Recommended for stress reduction by the Mayo Clinic, Tai Chi has been found to increase the ability to perform moderate to rigorous activities, improve sleep quality, and reduce joint pain. In this 10-week series of classes, you will stretch and improve balance as you learn the Yang Style 13 Posture form. Whether a beginner or an intermediate student, all fitness levels will grow in this low impact class. Its gentle exercises are adaptable and safe for people of all ages and stages of health. Awaken your energy…Tai Chi with Rita!
WHEN: Mondays (beginning 9/23): Join us Mornings (9:30-11:00 am) or Evenings (5:30-7:00 pm)
COST: $100 per student for the 10-week series, due at the first class
Payment for the Tai Chi class may be made by Cash or Check (made payable to UCHM). Enrollment is accepted up until the 3rd class (Oct. 7th). There is no reduced fee for late enrollment, and no refunds will be given after first class. The class is open to adults only (18+). It is recommended that participants wear loose clothing and flat shoes. For additional information about the class, please visit www.uchmlouky.org.
To enroll for either or both classes, call UCHM at 893-0346, or drop by to register. We need “YOU” at “U”CHM!
