Bring together your family and friends as the American Cancer Society and Norton Commons join efforts to “Relay in the Park,” raising funds and awareness for the fight against cancer. On Friday, August 9, 2013, the American Cancer Society will be honoring and remembering individuals touched by cancer through a special luminaria and sky lantern ceremony. This ceremony will be in conjunction with Norton Commons’ free monthly movie night featuring Hotel Transylvania.
Beginning at 7 p.m., cancer survivors will be honored and luminaria and sky lanterns will be available for a donation. Luminaria bags can be dedicated for a $5 minimum donation and for a $20 minimum donation individuals can dedicate a sky lantern. The luminaria and sky lantern ceremony will take place at the conclusion of the movie after dusk.
Funds raised through Relay in the Park will support the American Cancer Society’s mission to save lives and create a world with less cancer and more birthdays by helping people stay well and get well, by finding cures and by fighting back. For more information or to dedicate a luminaria or sky lantern, contact Trish Kite-Hannon at 502-560-6027 or email@example.com.
