Dr. Crump will give a lecture on “Change and Experimentation” followed by a conversation with Speed Curator of Modern and Contemporary Art and Director of Adult Programs, Suzanne Weaver. An extraordinary scholar, curator, writer and editor, he has collaborated with a variety of important institutions such as Princeton University Art Museum, Fotomuseum Winterthur (Switzerland), and the J. Paul Getty Museum. Dr. Crump has worked with many stellar contemporary artists, including Nan Goldin, Doug Aitken, James Welling, and Doug and Mike Starn, and he has recently written or edited catalogues for prestigious publishers such as Phaidon Press Ltd., Hatje Cantz, and Skira Rizzoli.
The November 28 program will be held in the Lectorium in the Egan Leadership Center at Spalding University, located at 901 South Fourth Street. Admission is $5, free for Museum members and students of the University of Louisville, Spalding University, and Kentucky School of Art.
The Art & Dialogues series is a new programming initiative that will present nationally and internationally recognized art professionals to Louisville audiences.
