BARK IN THE PARK AND WOOF WALK/RUN
Sept. 28th, 2013 Seneca Park
Please join The Animal Care Society for our 10th Annual celebration of all things canine.
Festivities begin at 8 AM with the Woof Walk/Run. Everyone is invited to participate in this 5K walk/run to raise money for Louisville’s first Nonprofit, No-Kill Animal Shelter. Walkers are encouraged to collect money from friends, neighbors, and families in addition to their own registration fee. Participants who raise over $200 are automatically entered to win great prizes. Pre-registration is preferred, but registration the day of is also encouraged. Leashed dogs are welcome to participate as well!
Bark in the Park Vendors open at 9 AM. For those who are interested, a variety of businesses, services, and rescue groups will have booths with information and products for sale.
Throughout the day (times to be determined) lots of fun contests are available to the canines and their proud owners. The Dog of the Year Contest is open to voting throughout the day. The Kissing Contest determines which pooch has the best smooch. The Halloween Costume Contest lets owners dress up their furry friends in silly costumes. And the Pet/Owner Look-A-Like Contest is quite a riot!
Entertainment is also available all day of the event. We are proud to present the Flying Houndz Frizbee Trick Dog Show as our main entertainment, with several other activities such as live music, a dog agility demonstration, and a Louisville Police Canine Unit demonstration.
For the Animal Care Society Silent Auction & Raffles, staff and volunteers create baskets of goodies beyond compare. Sightseeing and dining experiences, shopping bargains and more are nestled away in each basket!
