Please join us for the First Anniversary Celebration of the Beaded Treasures Project with guest of honor, Mayor Greg Fischer, at the Kentucky Refugee Ministries, 969 Cherokee Road, on Monday, July 2nd from 10:00am – 12:00pm.
It’s hard to believe that BTP has grown so rapidly from a small group of beaders working on the completion of a single retail project into a full-fledged entrepreneurial enterprise!
The program uses a novel approach to the principles of microeconomics, so successfully used in Bangladesh and other countries by providing refugee women beaders with the tools and resources to generate income and become self-sufficient entrepreneurs. We currently have women beaders from Burma, Bhutan, Nepal, Iraq, and Africa.
The event will showcase how the Project works at a local grassroots level and provide opportunities to meet the beaders, learn how to become involved, network with community organizations and individuals working on common goals and meet Mayor Fischer, a champion of the entrepreneurial spirit.
The event is open to the public. Mark Your Calendar and join the celebrations with friends and family!
