BlueMile, local specialty running and walking store, will host the sixth run of their Kentucky Brew Mile Summer Series on August 23. The one-mile walk/run will benefit The Alley Theater, a local, nonprofit, progressive theater.
BlueMile and The Alley Theater have partnered with Against the Grain Brewery in the NuLu neighborhood for this event. Against the Grain will serve as the start and finish line of the race which will run through adjacent Slugger Field. For five dollars, participants receive race registration and a free beer or soft drink from Against the Grain at the conclusion of the race. Sponsors BlueMile, Brooks, and Draft Magazine will provide giveaways, test shoes and gear for participants. Additionally, prize packages donated from area businesses will be available for raffle. Participants can register online through the BlueMile website before the race at www.bluemile.com. Race day registration is also available and starts at 6:00 p.m. (cash only). The race begins at 6:30 p.m.
