COFFEE CUP THEATRE COMPANY OPENS 2012 – 2013 SEASON WITH RADIO PLAYS
Coffee Cup Theatre Company (CCTC) will open its 2012 – 2013 Season with a trio of Halloween plays performed at The Bards Town, Located at 1801 Bardstown Road, on October 11, 12, 13, & 18, 19 20 at 7:30 pm. The production entitled Halloween Trilogy of Radio Plays featuring The Monkey’s Paw by W.W Jacobs and adapted by Jeanette Jaquish; The Canterville Ghost by Oscar Wilde and The Cask of Amontillado by Edgar Allan Poe and adapted by Cecilia Fannon and John de Lancie.
Presented as a traditional 1940s style radio program the evening begins with W.W. Jacobs The Monkey’s Paw. The story is based on the famous "setup" in which three wishes are granted. In the story, the paw of a dead monkey is a talisman that grants its possessor three wishes, but the wishes come with an enormous price for interfering with fate In The Canterville Ghost by Oscar Wilde a man is doomed spend the rest of time haunting until his wish is finally granted due to an act of kindness by a child. The evening ends with Edgar Allan Poe’s The Cask of Amontillado in which Montressor is driven by a burning desire to avenge his family’s suffering and his father’s death. He tricks his archrival into assisting in his own hideous demise.
